Aadhi raat ke shaid sapne jhoote they..

Ya phir pehli baar sitaare toote they...

Jis din ghar se bagh ke sheher pohnchi thi,

Bhag bhari ke bhag usi din phoote they...

Mazhab ki bunyaad pe kia taqseem hui,

Hamsayon ne hamsaye hi loote they...

Shokh nazar ki chutki ne nuksaan kia,

Haathon se chaye ke bartan choote they..

Aoorh ke phirti thi jo 'Nainaan' sari raat,

Us resham ki shaal pe yaad ke boote they...
